I was erasing earlier on a file and it magically was adding masks making my edits non-destructive. Then I started a new file from a jpg and wanted to test editing photos, removing backgrounds, etc. This time it isn't doing it that way and selecting+deleting or using the eraser is indeed deleting data instead of masking.

Is there a toggle I'm missing?
