Why are 90% of LPN jobs with the elderly population?

Geriatrics/LTC/SNF etc are pretty much the only specialties I don’t want to go into. However that seems to make up the vast majority of LPN jobs. Why? Everything else seems to be home health if it isn’t one of the others I listed.

I have a masters degree in education from my previous career. I’m currently getting my LPN so I can work while bridging. I know the classes are very different, but should I just work as an LPN until I decide to maybe get an MSN or what? I want to be an RN but feel like it’s going “backwards” to get an ADN/BSN.

I’m on 60mg and was originally on 70, but since it wasn’t really doing anything she dropped me back to 60mg for less side effects. I’ve been taking a 20mg Adderall IR booster every day, but even this combination doesn’t seem to be helping. Has anyone ever done more than that? I’ve pretty much maxed out everything. I tried 30mg Adderall XR too.

I’m a career changer currently in nursing school. I’m curious to know out of the specialties you’ve worked in what the pros and cons of them are. Thank you!

Throughout my program, people at many times have made it very clear they are Christian and talk about it in class. Close to the end of class, a student said he wanted to share some encouragement. This turned into 15 minutes preaching about the visions he’s had, how space isn’t real, how the news is a lie, and how those who believe will be guided by God in this program and the others will have “a much harder road ahead of them”. Then 5 more minutes after that consisted of people sharing about God and his faithfulness to those who believe. This same guy who preached also told me my marriage failed because I didn’t have God at the foundation. I said I think this isn’t an appropriate setting because we are here to become nurses and not everyone believes the same thing and that we need to be respectful of each other and different beliefs. I was told it’s a “Christian school” (it isn’t) because the owners are Christians and I didn’t have to listen but it would be talked about and that God wants Christians to “plant the seed” of faith and that’s their job to do. I was also told that Satan will try to test the believers etc. there have been times my professor when learning about cells about how our Creator is the great designer and made everything perfectly and how we had to have him to make everything so intricately and there is nothing else that would make sense. I am not religious and am so uncomfortable and feel like since I’ve spoken up that nobody there likes me or respects me anymore and it may affect the teachers grading. I was told by another student that the class is 95% Christian and that the assumption is that everyone is a person of faith and that people were side eyeing me because I said “I’m just trying to be the devils advocate”. This program meets my financial needs and time constraints so I can’t transfer to another one but I’m just so uncomfortable.

What advice might you have??

Edit: thankfully today, another student in my cohort stood up and said we need to be respectful of one another because there are people of many different walks of life and religion in this room and the way nonbelievers are spoken about is not respectful and there is a time and place, and this is not it. She said even though the heads of the school are Christian, that does not make this a Christian school. The guy that was preaching yesterday said he was just preaching since he had visions of “demons in the classroom” and a student stopped him. She said she’s a Christian but speaking that way can easily and obviously be interpreted the wrong way, and we are all here paying money to be nurses and our class time does need to be devoted to that, not religion. The professor agreed and we made it a rule to not talk about religion during class. I was pleasantly surprised.
