Can I just say how amazing this app is? 😭 Drawing on my Supernote is 10x more fun now.

I know AI makes building custom apps easier these days, but putting together a full drawing app and taking the time to research and understand what users want is no small effort.

My favorite features have to be the variety of blending options and brush overlays. The opaque and transparent brush modes are something I didn't know I needed, and the toggleable wet canvas is perfect for mixed-media art.

I was surprised how capable the paint bucket, gradient fill, and shape tools worked on an eink device. Everything feels quick & responsive, especially compared to Atelier, which has always felt slow and laggy to me (even when selecting tools).

The floating bar grayscale color picker and PAGES is heaven-sent. And thank you for adding the SUMI (round) brush! That's been at the top of my brush wishlist for a long time. 😭

Anyway, I wanted to give a shoutout of appreciation because it's rare to see feature improvements aimed at creative users. (We feel like we're put on the back burner to wait.) So seeing someone take the time to build something like this for the community means a lot!

TLDR: Monopaint on Supernote is awesome, it has almost every tool I need. Huge thank you to u/mpdairy for making it. I left a separate online note with all my feedback to avoid turning this post into a textwall. :D

Any news on layer merge for Notes app?

I love making handdrawn stickers in the Notes app, but I find myself holding back on more complex or detailed designs (especially with background color fills) because there's no way to merge layers like we can in Atelier.

Also, I sometimes end up drawing on the wrong layer 😭, and since copy and paste isn't a quick fix, it really slows my workflow. Merging or flattening layers would save so much time and hassle.

Just wondering if there's any news on layer merging coming to Notes? I know it's been requested by the community for a while now :)

TLDR: Feature request reminder: Layer merging/flattening in the Notes app... when?

Atelier finally has its own ink pen, called the pressure pen

Drew a test piece to experiment with the new pressure pen and paper types (smooth & sketch) that recently rolled out in Atelier, beta only. Note: the art is meant to be viewed landscape, but it's framed portrait so reddit wouldn't crop the next slide.

I already shared my feedback during the internal test, so I'll spare the dull details. I just wanted to say how grateful I am to the Supernote team for continuing to improve the app and listening to our requests, despite art users being a minority within the community. I hope more people discover the charm of eink art (please give atelier a try!) and contribute their own valuable feedback. Make Atelier the best eink drawing app there is! :D

Though, as usual, I'll never stop begging for features to make this app even more complete (shorter list this time!):

- A page/sketchbook feature (see second slide): Single spd files are piling up, and I'd rather avoid cluttering my library with folders 😭. If this ever gets implemented, it'd be nice if we could select existing art files and combine them into a "sketchbook." It'd make everything so much more organized.

- Be able to copy a drawing selection and paste it to a different layer

- Lasso fill tool or paint bucket

Hobonichi monthly drawing spread (on the Manta!)

Always wanted to try the old hobonichi calendar drawing trend on my eink device, but couldn't find a decent template that I liked. So I made one from a scanned image and merged the pages together. (Visit Inkhub or my profile link to download the free template!)

This is a great way to doodle daily or do small thumbnail studies on a particular subject/theme for 30-31 days :)

Above is my drawing spread from last month: character face sketches. I drew using 0.5 ink pen.

Also, love LOVE the calligraphy pen. I hope to see more pen additions in the future (Sumi brush pen pls).
