Singapore Schools
Hi Reddit,
We are moving to Singapore soon. I’m overwhelmed by the school options (I’m also a teacher so hence why asking here). We will also be arriving mid year so I think that means a few schools are automatically out as they don’t have mid year intakes. For the sake of information gathering, budget is not a concern but ease of transportation is.
I’d like my kids to attend a school that’s not too competitive with marks and extra curriculars - is that possible in Singapore? I’m more about the happiness of the kids and teachers than pushing them to be the best test scorers. I’ve worked at a top tier schools in Europe so I know that this exists elsewhere.
I also am keen to get my foot in the door as a relief/supply teacher so I have two reasons for looking for nice vibes. One of my previous schools had a tyrant principal and bullied staff so not keen on getting on that train again.
Thanks for any insight
