Dog Sitting Former Foster
The family that adopted my foster were out of town this weekend so I got to pup-sit! So many feelings!!
I was so excited to see her and spend time with her again. She was adopted the week after Easter so it’s only been a month since she’s been with her new family. But she is SO BAD now!
She is super high energy and very smart. It takes a lot of work to keep her from getting frustrated and misbehaving. She needs physical and mental stimulation. I think she is getting those needs filled because when she got here she slept for like the first five hours!
I had her perfectly crate trained. She really needs it because she doesn’t ever calm down on her own. It’s like she has ADHD and anxiety. She needs the structure to help her understand when it’s time to be calm and chill tf out. The family is DEFINITELY not using the crate and that makes me so sad for her. I’m worried she’s just anxious all the time.
I don’t know what my point is, I think I just need to share. I have to remember she’s not my dog.
One more thing I want to share, and maybe get feedback on… when my boyfriend came over to visit she got super submissive and peed. Actually, the first few hours he was here every time he would pet her she would pee. That happened ONCE before while I was fostering her. My boyfriend tripped over her in the kitchen and when he landed he yelled in pain. She thought he was yelling at her and got scared and ran away and peed. She got over that incident pretty quickly and my boyfriend became one of her favorite people. So it made me so worried when this happened as soon as she saw him. What are you guys thoughts on that? I know what it makes me think… but maybe I’m overreacting.
But also, isn’t she so pretty!!! 🥰
