Radioddity ATU-100 + Random Wire?
Hey all, I have a small yard and an HOA (and a wife, even without an HOA) that prevent me from a major antenna. I have a 20m dipole in the attic and do decently well with it all things considered. I get out better than I receive, but have done OK.
I'm looking at a temporary setup in the yard for field day in June and am kind of at a loss given my conditions: relatively small yard, one tree that is ~15 ft from an aluminum pool cage, and other, smaller trees, that are ~5' from the aluminum pool cage. The parts of the trees I'd be able to get the antenna into are about equal height or slightly lower than the cage.
Would a random wire with that antenna tuner somewhat like the below have any chance of working reasonably well (and better than what I've got in the attic?). I know the answer is to just try it, but looking for a bit of a sanity check before I buy an antenna tuner and burn half of a Saturday.
