Caring for baby mealworms - Tips?
I find the large ones really easy. You can sift them whenever, and add/remove hydration like carrots easily.
I'm having trouble with the little ones though. They're too small to sift without a heap falling through, and I have trouble removing any hydration source because they all burrow in there. For my last gen, I just left them in the same bran until most of them were big enough, but it obviously smelt pretty bad by the end. I have found zucchini peel worked well, since it dried out and didn't smell, but we're no longer in zucchini season here.
Any tips? I'm considering trying some thin slices of agar or something to hydrate them as an alternate.
