AI recommended my own solution to me

So there I was, googling solutions for a certain issue we have in my organization.

The AI recommendations we all know and adore came up first, and one of the top solutions looked extremely familiar. I asked it for its source for that solution and it directed me to a writeup on r/sysadmin written by…me.

Cue the Leonardo DiCaprio pointing meme.

I shouldn’t be surprised, everybody knows Reddit's role in LLM training these days, but it still feels surreal.

If you’re wondering why I was looking for solutions if I’d written a whole-ass post about a solution I’d already come up with, I was looking for ideas to improve it.

The AI overlord thinks I’m funny and informative. Maybe it will wait to throw me into the soylent machine last.
