Getting passport with new legal name (Ontario)

I became citizen in the past few months
And I applied legal name change in Ontario
The name change certificate will be in my mailbox in next week

My question
Will the federal government accept my application with temporary driver license ?
I never applied Canadian passport before

The document / identity document I have when I submit the passport application

  1. Citizenship certificate (with my old name )
  2. Ontario temporary driver license paper ( new name )
  3. Ontario name change certificate (old name > new name )
  4. Foreign country passport (old name , and I will only change my name in Canada , my identity in home country will be the old name )
  5. Ontario Driver license (card), but with my old name on it

I need to get the Canadian passport with my new name asap for legal purposes (family issue )
-

I know the safest way is to wait till the driver license (card) be arrived and then I apply for the passport.
But is there any chance they will accept the paper ID (new name ) + foreign passport (old name ) + name change certificate as a proof of identity when I submit the passport application?

Update #2 for expedite name change

Hello is me again, I am so mad right now I need advice for how to not being return back again

I called the ORG today. They said they saw my urgent request yesterday, they found my package from the document pile, they had a look on the application and they decided to mail back my original application yesterday

The call centre agent disclosed the reason as: discrepancy between your current legal name and the documents you submitted.

He said better to get the mail received and call back with the rejection letter on hand and see what should you do.

Once I fill it out again then I will mail back asap since I am planning to travel outside canada with my new name.

The only reason I can think about for the rejection is the birth registration from overseas that I submitted to them.

When I was born , I called John Smith, and when I was six years old, my parents changed my name to Peter Smith (the name I currently have). And I want my new legal name is David Peter Spring right now. My current legal name has insult meaning in english so i just wants to completely change it, and 80% of the time the staff will fill my name wrongly even i said 10 times for how my name should be properly filled.

I was born overseas and become Canadian citizens in recent months. My parents did a name change for me when I was a child. But what with my home country government do is put a remarks on the new birth registration and indicate when and how you name changed (if you was <12 yo at that time ), and it will still shows your name at birth under the section 'name' , and 'remarks' 'john altered to peter in 01-01-2007 processed by officer ABC890' .

So what will the ORG seen on my birth registration is:

Name: John

Date and place of birth: 01-01-1990 King Charles Hospital

Surname and given name of the father: Smith, George

Surname and given name of the mother: Bush, Daisy

....

Remarks: john altered to peter in 01-01-2007 processed by officer ABC890'

I told the agent that this is how my home country government did , they will never issue any kinds of name change certificate if you did your name change before you turns 12 year old. And I told him my home country passport, my PR card in Canada , and my canadian citizenship certificate also displayed as Peter Smith and the federal government never questioned towards this manner even I disclosed I have done a legal name change before. So why the provincial government will reject it. I used the same birth registration to get my PR and Citizen so right now the ORG believes it should not be right.

I told him my home country national ID, home country passport, canadian PR, Canadian citizenship certificate all displayed as Peter Smith, and what he said is even passport cannot be a prove since you do not have a name change certificate (paper), and he said for you case you may need to apply as John Smith for your current name, but you should also wait for what the letter of rejection saying. I said that even become more non sense at all since all my legal documents in Canada and home country as displayed as Peter Smith, I do not have any documents other than birth registration shows my name is John Smith, if I applied name change with current name John Smith, and submit the citizenship certificate with Peter Smith, then it absolutely more non-sense.

He advised me to send a signed letter to explain the situation and let see what will the officer says. I understand but it is waste of time, I need to find the commissioner again, pay the fees for commissioner service, and spent $50 for express mail.

I did not get the mail yet, but I think it could be another reason, as you seen above, the birth registration did not indicate my surname at the time, which is common for my home country, regardless they know and doesn't know who the father was,. However that is how the system works there and no one complains about. And 95% of the time the baby will have the same surname as the father's. Again, if they reject this application because of this then it is not make sense at all, same documents I can get the canadian citizenship and right now ontario government asked more than that.

So what should I included in the letter for this time, do I even need to print out the entire law from my home country just to prove thats how my home country government works for birth registration and legal name change????? The place what I from has a significant amount of Canadian citizen living there (not india/ china) , and most of the people submitted for birth registration were the same one i submitted (no matter they changed their legal name or not) when they applied to move to canada, and now the provincial government think that is not OK??? What TH is that

Update for expedite legal name change

Contact the ORG yesterday
The agent said it will take 1-2 weeks for the urgent request to be reviewed, if approved , it will take another 1-4 weeks for processing payment , police check , and confirm your new name does not consist any prohibited words, which means even it got expedited it will takes forever before they can mail the certificate out.
I mailed out the original request around 20 April , and asked for urgent processing last week ,I didn’t request at the beginning is because I didn’t realised my current name even cause my college diploma printed wrongly (the combination of my name will easily made the staff fill my name wrongly that’s why I wants to get rid of it)
At the time I got the school diploma with the name printed wrongly, I decided to request for expedite the process. Just won’t wants to be stranded at the airport / hotel if someone put my name wrongly, which happened 50% of the time.
-
Hope the ORG will process my urgent request since I am not confident to travel with my current name, which always cause confusion to the staff regarding what my name supposed to be with.

Expedite Legal name change

Try to post on the Ontario forum but got removed by the bot so I rather get it posted here
-

Does anyone applied legal name change and able to expedite the process , I know it currently take 24 weeks . Contacted the MPP for help and hope it will take faster since my legal name keeps making troubles.

Background: born outside Canada , applied on mid of April since that is the time when I got my Canadian citizenship
Mailed the application to Thunderbay by registered mail

I called the service Ontario last month and they said I should call back after 3 months

Does anyone tried to asked the service Ontario to expedite the process and get approved.

Currently my legal name caused too much confusion and trouble when filling out the documents, and the staff will surprisingly look at me and ask me few time does my name really write like that , which make me cannot tolerate.
Also my name have an offensive meaning in English. And it happened to many times that the staff will mess up my name ( of course I am able to correct it before finalise the documents ) , but I don’t want it to be happened again so I filed a legal name change. And the college printed my name on the diploma wrongly ( it got amended after), which makes me think that expedite the name change process is a must to prevent other circumstances in the future. Will there be any chance that the registrar would speed up the process because of that ?
