Disappointed
As soon as this project was announced I was through the roof. I talked about it regularly until it dropped. Ive been a GL fan for a decade. I loved Superman (2025). Ive been defending Gunns DCU. I defended this series to my gf for the first 7 episodes. Assuring her and I they were saving budget for a killer finale. Saving the suit for maximum impact in the finale. I am so disappointed. I know it was a crime drama. Crime Dramas still have action scenes. A series about GLs should feature the protagonist in his GL uniform regardless of its genre.
I personally feel betrayed and thats just my honest feelings. I never thought we were gonna see live action GL again after the 2011 film. So this put my hopes at an all time high and I feel like it was an over correction that was ashamed of its source material. So far my fav live action GL portrayal is Guy in Superman 2025. This episode even made Guy feel less spectacular. Even the "plot twist" was a let down.
For those who enjoyed it, Im glad. Im not here to force my opinion onto everybody. Im not here to argue about which opinion is correct. Im not here to spread hate. Im just here to vent about my disappointment. I even told myself in the last 10 mins of the episode that if I got a suit on John, Id still be happy. Couldnt even get that though. Not what I wanted but maybe others feel different and thats okay.
