Suggestions for decent tent camping locations

Recently moved here from South Texas so I'm unfamiliar with areas that allow tent camping. Doesn't have to be a state park, could be private property spots.

Main concern would be finding decently safe locations. All suggestions welcomed.

How are tariffs affecting your conversations with subs/vendors on material pricing right now?

I used to see tariff prices that were all over the place here in the south. Didn't have any convos with vendors directly about it, but I noticed they all had a tariff clause in their quotes.

How unreasonable or outrageous have some of the clauses been that you've seen? Are you passing that cost over to the client?

GC side vs Sub side - who develops better overall estimators?

I'm curious what perspectives are had for this question.

Do you have to have a broader knowledge base to work for a sub, or is that typically a thing reserved for GC estimators?

Some GCs employ MEP estimators that only bid/level scopes for their specific trades. Are they more developed than say, their counterparts that work for a subcontractor?

Is formal construction education necessary to be a great estimator or does field experience matter more?

Not asking for myself - asking for general opinions.

I lean more towards field experience, especially for the MEP trades. I believe it's easier to understand the required material, installation methods, and labor units when one has lived it. But that's my opinion.

What are your thoughts?

What's your process for dealing with incomplete construction documents?

Coming from the sub side to the GC side, I now see incomplete CD sets are becoming commonplace. When we're asking subs to price them for award, I feel a bit guilty knowing from experience the position we put them in.

How are you experienced folks handling drawings that lack cohesiveness? Relying heavily on specs and qualifying everything? Using SF numbers out of frustration? Bidding low so you can hit up the GC with change orders?

We used to spell out assumptions plainly or SF when takeoff wasn't worth the effort. I'm curious how widely accepted that is and what other approaches people use.
