imagine not expecting to get booed when you laud ai to new graduates

Ai public relations campaigns repeatedly tell young people, directly and indirectly, that their skills (and even their ability to acquire new skills) will be outpaced by ai and so may not earn you a living, that what you try to do about it may not matter (it's all happening so inevitably, apparently), and that whatever you do in the future, ai will be your future...And then they are caught off guard at the "Luddism" and "anti-tech attitudes", instead of just understanding that it's the most natural response to such a sweeping demoralization campaign. Shocking levels of tone deafness and the most extreme form of being out of touch.
