Wedding Babysitter

A family member of mine owns wedding venues and I want to propose the idea of become a wedding babysitting service. At the venue there is a back room where I could set things up. I’m thinking I would have cots, pillows, blanks, for anyone who wants to sleep. A table with coloring stuff. And other fun toys. Also a projector/tv for Disney movies. The only thing I am unsure about is how to go about charging. It would make the most sense to have this service as a package add on which the bride/groom would have to pay for. Which I’m not sure they will be interested in paying for on top of everything. It would run from start to end of reception, so usually like 4-11ish. I would honestly be willing to do it for like $500. I would also want to come up with a secure sign in/out system. Likely requiring a parent ID and their phone number so I can get ahold of them.

If you aren’t familiar, Melissa unexpectedly lost two of her daughters. The daughter passed in April 2024, and the second passed in December 2025. After the most recent death Melissa started receiving a lot of hate. There was a post on this Reddit page and the comments were full of accusations and suspicions toward Melissa.

The family has shared a diagnosis. The daughter who passed in 2025 had a mitochondrial condition called PPA2. This condition causes sudden cardiac events and it is often fatal. It’s very rare, one study from 2023 included 59 individuals with PPA2 - 49 of them passed. A study from 2022 included 34 individuals with PPA2 - 28 of them passed.

I want to share this for those who were accusing Melissa of munchausen by proxy. Or saying that she allowed her children to get sick and provided prayer as their only form of treatment. Those who said she needed another child to die so her platform could continue to be about grief.

I understand judging someone for posting their kids on the internet. I also think it’s important to remind ourselves that we don’t know everything about these people and should be careful with our words. Because for all you know, this is a mother who went through an unimaginable tragedy twice.
