Note: I am not a truck person and my biggest vehicle I’ve ever owned was a Honda civic, currently driving a gti. I convinced myself I want a truck for hiking and mountain biking trips - my gti struggles on rough roads with the bike rack on it, I get really nervous and often have to flick on my warning lights and just drive like 5 mph.
I test drove a frontier pro4x and a Tacoma trd off road this past weekend and aside from the steering I liked the Nissan better, it felt a lot more comfortable in the cabin (seats, space, etc), it felt more like a traditional modern car which I liked. But I absolutely hate the steering. I’m not going to say I’m weak but I’m a woman and have my preferences with steering and it feels like it might be the dealbreaker.
Has anyone else had my same experience and did you get used to it? It’ll probably be less of an issue if I keep my gti but I’m considering trading it in because I don’t think I want multiple vehicles, I only have a single stall garage.
