Gun of the day (38 of 74)

Hey folks, I’m back!

I’ve been tasked with inventorying the family arsenal left behind by my father. 74 (mostly) rifles. Between myself and some family friends we’ve gotten the bulk of it complete but I’m posting here to confirm, double check, and see if any of you all can fill in the gaps or drop some knowledge. Enjoy!

Day 38: Mauser Modelo Argentino 1891, sporterized w/ scope.

PS. You guys are so much more fun to share with than r/firearms and r/antiqueguns. I’m glad to be back, if just for the day.

*Note!* This is gonna do it for Military rifles for a little bit. There are still more milsurp rifles to come, which I will obviously post here, but unfortunately we’ve gotten through the bulk of it. I’m going to be posting to r/firearms starting tomorrow. Follow along there, I promise there are some awesome guns to gawk at. And who knows, some of the milsurps to come might be some of the best in his collection.

Gun of the day guy… quick question.

You may or may not have been seeing my daily posts from my fathers collection of rifles, but at some point in the future the collection is going to take a turn away from Military and into more hunting/sporting rifles. Any suggestions on where I should post those? Thanks!

Edit:
Here is day 22: As best as I can tell we are looking at a Hollis and Sons Mark III Snider. (Hollis and Sons on the lock plate, flat hammer indicating Mark III, arrow piercing an “S” by the breach for Sniders patent.) But what I cannot tell is if we are looking at a Mark III carbine or not. Anyone able to clear that up?
