Need help for a headphone setup in basement sitting area
I have a bit of a cave that’s slowly getting set up with a comfortable chair and a heating pad that I can escape to and relax. There’s a tv down there that I’ll watch sports and play some Madden or Gran Turismo while playing some music through Spotify. I’ve used Sony 1000MX4 for years and enjoyed them well enough but the ANC started acting up and causing a high pitched screeching noise. Got some 1000MX6 but not in love with them.
I was thinking of upgrading to a headphone amp setup with something like a Schiit Vali and some sort of DAC with some headphones. I think I would run an optical cable from tv to amp about 12 feet from the tv. I listen to mostly stoner rock, some hip hop (MF Doom is a favorite) and Lucero, Jason Isbell type music. So long story short, help me pick out a set up more geared towards music and relaxing the back after a long day!
Appreciate any and all suggestions.
Edit: Apologies for not adding this earlier but $200 - $400 ish for headphones. $200ish for amp, same for DAC if necessary.
