Radiosonde Y0240111 just flew - Another twofer?

Y0240111 Just finished its flight, apparently landing in beautiful downtown Alamo. Launched right around 6 AM Pacific. If the Groomers keep to their newish pattern, there will be a second sonde launch between 9 and 10 AM Pacific this morning. Or not...

Edit: Welp, the bastards made a fool of me once again. They decided to launch their second sonde, Y0240012, around 8:30 AM. I choose to blame it on the upcoming holiday weekend. Yep, that's it.

Fresh launch of radiosonde Y0240008

Just happened to notice it right as it launched real close to 6:00AM Pacific time. Every time I make a prediction I look like an idiot, but if this follows the pattern that's been going down for 5-6 AM launches, there should be a second one this morning circa 10 AM Pacific.

Groom will now prove me wrong.

Edit: Got the launch time wrong. I wasn't awake. Fixed.

Y0240421 - Groom just got a new box of radiosondes

https://sondehub.org/Y0240421

Never seen a Y series before, anywhere. Seeing it here for the first time at Groom. Who knows what it means.

The X series first surfaced in the wild a couple of years ago, but it took Groom a while to get with that program. It's just a matter of time before a Z series shows up.

Edit to add: If anyone can get out there with a receiver, and it's still transmitting, it would be a stupidly easy recovery. My, uh private info, tracked it down to 3469 meters at 37.38583, -115.41785 should that info be useful to anyone.

Well this is certainly an interesting development.

Perhaps I might offer up Reveille Peak as an option? Admittedly, it's quite a distance, but it is DIRECTLY under the Groom flight path. It could certainly serve a purpose.

To give you an idea, this is a pic I took with a simple point and shoot potatocam, on an exceptionally clear day. That's Mt. Charleston in the distant background. You're looking right down the runway. Very nice line of sight.

Oh, and one doesn't have to climb all the way to the top of Reveille to acquire this view. It's obtainable much lower.
