Friendly PSA for Stuttering

I used to deal with a lot of stuttering when I transitioned over to PC but wanted to share as LOTRO seems like a very CPU-bound game on old computer logic so even newer rigs can struggle sometimes. I'd like to share the few things I have done (not a PC guru at all, just by some searching) that at least helped for me and would like to echo a post that didn't get much traction;

https://www.reddit.com/r/lotro/comments/1ngryzm/how_to_increase_3050_fps_using_dxvk_on_windows/

Following that guide with a very simple install and even a manager for other applications significantly boosted my FPS/at least heavily reduced stutters from the getgo, and the installation is extremely easy, just placing a file in the LOTRO folder and is very safe.

Other things I recommend if not tried already;

In-Game:

Turn off Chat Profanity Filter, Disable 3d Object Portraits (For some reason these 2 seem to have a big effect on a lot of players) set Player Crowd Quality and Frill Density lower (not much visual impact at all). Lock your FPS to your refresh rate, and set your refresh rate to the max your monitor allows.

Task Manager:

Set LOTRO to have High or Realtime Priority (You can change this to always be the case when you launch with a quick google on how to have a program always run at a specific CPU priority)

For NVIDIA users;

If you have an NVIDIA graphics card, turn on Image Scaling in the App or Control Panel (I set my sharpness to ~30% and see no visual difference, likely only works in Fullscreen AFAIK.), turn off V-Sync, and set your default graphics card to your actual graphics card (unsure if this makes a difference for the large population) rather than the default.

I still experience some stuttering when lots of players are online or concentrated in a busy area, like in festivals, but it is much more manageable than before and usually isolated to those specific areas due to FPS drops. Otherwise, it has worked wonders for me and hopefully it does for you.

Most valuable defensive virtues for Red Line Warden?

Hello,

I am trying to learn a new warden and choosing my virtues I want to focus on earlier on. I seem to have a bit of trouble hitting around level 40 with staying alive in red line, so thought I would grind for some more defensive virtues.

I have a hard time seeing the value between different defensive stats like Resistance Rating, Physical Mitigation, etc., as well as the more valuable choice between vitality/morale increase etc.

Are certain defensive aspects more valuable later on and can be ignored early, and should I just focus on morale/physical mitigation? Most tougher enemies I come across now seem to delete my health quickly with more physical damage as far as I'm aware or debuffs, which I can clear obviously but sometimes they stack quite quickly with a group (Are these considered tactical vs. physical based on their damage type?)

Just trying to figure out which I should focus on grinding, because my offensive stats and physical mastery is usually fairly capped out for my level as I usually craft gear when I can as I enjoy it.

I play mostly on flat Fearless difficulty if that matters.

Runekeeper or Loremaster, after rework

Another class picking post.

In terms of sheer fun, and most important FEEL, which class in its current iteration do you prefer? I have played both up to around level 35, and am having a hard time deciding. My first character was a loremaster ages ago, and upon returning to the game, I do like how strong and slightly mobile they feel now with the downside of being unable to have a pet in red line now. I do not like how long some of the cooldowns are, which mentally make me just not want to use the more powerful skills very often. I like the SLIGHTLY more thinking involved.

I have recently been able to reconcile most of runekeeper's class fantasy in my head, and am having a blast with it, and love the idea of being able to heal as well when needed. I like both the yellow and red lines, and they feel quite strong as well, if not a bit too..magey. It is just a blast running around setting everything on fire, or hearing some of the class's big hits go off.

Which class satisfies you more, and just FEELS better, for most of the game? I like both and am altoholically currently trying to split my time to decide, which is detracting me from enjoying the full experience when I am playing the same areas over back-to-back.

Seeking Lyndelby Waterfall House (Peregrin)

Shooting in the dark here, but is anyone on the Peregrin server and have an extra or don't really want to hold onto their 2 Glenmouth Path house? I have been waiting for this to be available for quite awhile (>1yr) but it has never been available for me and I would love it so much to utilize.

Does anyone know what run speed boosts stack and don't stack?

I'm aware hunter/warden buffs override most or all run speed buffs. But how about the +8% run speed buff from pocket items, the necklace of quickness, high elf passive, etc.? I have never been able to find a straight answer but is there anyone out there who knows?

Issue with JRR skins

Hello, I have been a longtime user of the popular JRR skins UI plugin but upon reinstalling the game, am now having an issue that I hadn't before. Whenever I load a character with a UI skin activated, the toolbar (just the main toolbar, nothing else is affected) shifts over to the right side of the screen so it is not centered. The only way to fix this is to reset the skin to default in the options, reload the character, and then reapply the skin. This leaves the toolbar in the correct location.

Does anyone know how to fix this or have experienced this so I do not have to relog every time I change characters?
