I got a nice carving knife for Christmas (not pictured). After carving a very basic gnome, I decided I wanted to do what my grandfather did 80 years ago and carve a chain. So this is the second thing I've ever carved.

It's ugly. It's only 3 links. I'll confess I used a drill press to clean out the centers of the links.

Tools that I used:

  • drill press
  • small Japanese pull saw
  • 2 very narrow Narex Chisels
  • Flexcut carving knife
  • Beavercraft carving knife
  • Stanly wood rasp
