Best career path for father of two? Seeking advice

Hello,

Posting here as well, very open to options.

Sorry in advance if I’m asking stupid questions, it’s been something stuck on my mind and it’s very hard to vocalize it.

Short and simple I’m 25 years old, father of two. One is my stepson that I’ve taken the honor to fill the missing father role when I met my wife. And I have a newborn.

I have a bachelors of science in computer science and as you know the job market absolutely blows.

We have a paid off house in Texas, no debt. My wife is a full time student for nursing but she has 4 years to go.

What’s the best career path? I’ve been doing a lot of research - I do wanna stay in the San Antonio area but my wife is open to traveling anywhere else in Texas that’s available.

My options - reserves OR active become a cyberspace operations officer 17x - hoping that I’ll be able to get that billet and be able to tryout for 724STS or any STS as a support.

Since I’m also close to Lackland - be able to go for TACP or EOD 3E8X1.

Or pursue a national guard unit be able to tryout for SFAS in the near future or go full active & try to shoot for 75th ranger regiment.

Note: I’d ask my family who’ve served but due to an unfortunate fallout I’m not in communication with them. Any advice would help. I do wanna serve for my country but I also wanna have the best career path in or out to provide for my family.

Again - apologies if these come off as stupid career paths, I’m open to suggestions! I wanna ask this subreddit before I go to a recruiter.

Appreciate it!
