What do we mean when we say " my past self exists right now"
When people say there’s a "past version of myself existing right now," what does that even mean? There are two ways to look at it. First, maybe you’re on your own track and your past self is on a totally different one. Your paths don't cross, which basically means you aren’t even the same person. Or, maybe everyone your past self and your future self is on this one ride together. And when you break it down into tiny split seconds, the body you’re in right now isn't really yours; you don’t actually own a body. You’re constantly jumping from one body to the next, second by second, alongside countless versions of yourself that are taking over the physical shell you just left behind moments or years ago. If that’s the case, it means you aren't really you, and the people around you aren't who they were just a few seconds ago. But, no the only thing that isn’t yours is your body. Your soul is one of a kind, even if there are endless other souls out there belonging to your different selves. The soul of someone you know is hitchhiking right alongside you through these different fragments of time. Ever since day one, from the moment you were born, it’s been you, just switching from body to body. But at the end of the day, you are still you!
