Honestly, Democratic Socialist seem more MAGA than the current T 2.0 version of MAGA. Why all the hatred if it's a lot of the same ideas with a different label?

From what I've read Democratic Socialist seem to be fighting for the working man, focusing on affordability, energy independence, getting us out of foreign conflicts, etc. That's pretty much what MAGA stood for during T1.

There are differences for sure, like on immigration. But even DSA seem to agree with the right that the current system is broken but we need a different way to manage it without resorting to Trump running a secret police.

If you're MAGA, do you find any of the ideas from the Democratic socialist platform appealing? Why or why not?

Are Conservatives really OK with this 'Weekend at Bernies' charade with Mitch McConnell?

No one has seen him in person, it's all been "20 minute phone calls" with members of his own party.

Republican members of congress have even said the photo of Mitch with his wife was either old or edited.

The Governor of KY can't seem to get a hold of him and was told McConnell likely passed.

Is his corpse just been held on life support until after the special election deadline in August?

Do you find this behavior in the Republican party hypocritical or is that one senate seat so important that they should be willing to animate a corpse just to keep it?

How do conservatives square the T1 admin's anti-COVID lock down policies with how T2 is handling the Hantavirus exposed people and possible Ebola infected individuals?

The right was famously anti-lock-down during Covid. However, the way T2 is handling potential deadly diseases is almost a complete 180. Hantavirus individuals were held in quarantine against their will after being told it was voluntary and the ones who went home had guards stationed 24/7 outside their homes to make sure no one left. That's way more extreme than what we went through with covid.

We're also seeing travel bans on countries where Ebola has been documented. More concerning to me is that this admin is sending American citizens exposed to the virus (often while fighting it) to countries with significantly worse healthcare than they could get state side.

Does the right generally believe that "even a bad Republican is better than a good Democrat?" Do you consider that a sign of radicalization along with polarization?

I've heard this from people I know in very red areas for years, especially during Obama's time in office. Recently, I've heard it from very right leaning parts of the family in Texas with regards to the senate race. They hate Paxton, think he's a vile human and don't want to see him running for senate. But according to them, they'll hold their noses and vote for the guy in November because "a bad republican is still better than a good democrat."

Nothing about their logic involves policies from either candidate. It's entirely around blind loyalty to their own "team" and fear of the "other side." I argue this goes beyond simple polarization and shows how radicalized republicans/GOP have become under Trump.

The left isn't immune either, I'm not claiming they are, since this is a conservative sub i wanted to hear the conservative view on this.

Edit: Please stop with the whataboutism. I'm asking if conservatives feel this way, not whether Nazi's are bad....
