As expected, neither Malvika nor Veronica has posted anything for Independence Day but there’s always a story for literally every other occasion.

It’s honestly disappointing, though hardly surprising, that neither Malvika nor Veronica has posted anything for Independence Day.

These were the very same Indians from across the world who stepped up when their mother was undergoing treatment people who contributed money, showed empathy and helped when, by their own account, they had no personal connection or obligation to do so. And yet, today, there is not even a token acknowledgment of the country those people came from.

But the Fourth of July gets a story.

Your new friend Marjhan posted something for her country yesterday. At least learn a little about loyalty from her. I’m pretty sure she isn’t a Pakistani passport holder or earning in Pakistani currency either.

Malvika, for once, how about acknowledging your own country? No woke commentary. No condescending posts about everything that is wrong with India. Just one day where you acknowledge the country you were born in, the people who have supported you, and the freedom fighters who made this country what it is.

There are countless beautiful posts and reels celebrating India and its history. Posting even a simple, namesake Independence Day story would take all of 30 seconds.

Because when it comes to accepting the support, money, audience and opportunities that come from India, the country clearly matters. It would be nice if, at least once, the gratitude went both ways.
