Any room for improvement or just plain suggestions?

Put together a little tackle box for when I go down to the canal and river in my area, and a lake within driving distance on my few weekends off, with my ultra light setup....quickly learned the river moved to quickly for that light of a rod lol. Anyways, I was wondering what you guys thought of my lure choices, admittedly, I bought one of those "kits" off Amazon for like $20 and half of it was to heavy for the rod so I'm trying to dial it back and hone in on what I actually need. Fishing for anything that will bite but mostly planning on targeting panfish, trout, and smallmouth bass.

Got back into fishing recently after a 15 year hiatus. I was using a cheap used Shimano combo I got off FB marketplace....until my kid liked it better, and had better luck with it than his cheap Shakespeare combo his grandfather bought him from Walmart for Cub Scouts.

So now I'm on the hunt for something new for myself. I've only ever fished with spinning and spincadt reels on ultra light rods with mono line (6-8lbs test) as a kid.

We'd be fishing a small canal (both tree cover and open, about 60' wide and 5' deep) and larger lake by us which have panfish, small and large mouth bass, crappie, and carp. The lake also supposedly has pickerel, white sucker, and brown/yellow bullhead.

What would be a good all around rod length/action/power for these fish? Could I stick with an ultra light or should I go up to something else? Any good reels/brands to look at or stay away from? Looking to budget about $150ish dollars for this first setup.
