MRI Lumbar Spine

Hello everyone,

I'm a 25-year-old and have been experiencing sharp left-sided lower back pain for the past 4 weeks. I also have intermittent burning and tingling sensations affecting different parts of my left lower limb.

I recently had an MRI done, but the report states that there are no significant findings. I would really appreciate it if anyone with experience interpreting spinal MRIs could take a look at the images and share their thoughts. I do plan to follow up with the radiologist, but in the meantime, I'd be grateful for any insights, as I've been worrying and imagining the worst.

Thank you all

Sharp Back Pain with Tingling sensations over foot

Hello everyone,

I'm a 25-year-old and have been dealing with sharp left-sided lower back pain for the past 3 weeks. I also get intermittent burning and tingling over the sole and lateral aspect of my left foot.

The back pain isn't constant. It is usually worse when I bend forward, sit leaning forward, or make sudden movements. I was gradually improving, but about a week ago I had to spend several hours bent over for work, which significantly aggravated my symptoms. After about 5 days of relative rest, the pain has settled down again, but it's still there.

I haven't had any imaging yet because my spine specialist doesn't think it's necessary. My physical therapist feels my symptoms are related to weak gluteal muscles and has started me on strengthening exercises. I do think my glutes are weak, but given the foot burning and tingling, I'm not convinced that's the whole explanation.

Should I just get an MRI, or continue with physical therapy and wait? One of my concerns is that if this is actually a disc bulge, not knowing might lead me to do certain exercises or activities that could accidentally make it worse.

For context, I don't have any bowel or bladder symptoms or significant leg weakness. My X-rays were reported as normal by my spine specialist.

Thank you all!

Hey guys!

I want to be ECFMG certified in the upcoming cycle and then apply for Match next year.

Can someone break down the timeline for this and tell me by when I need to complete Step 2 CK, OET,, and apply for Pathways in order to be certified before May 2027.

Thank you!
