Recommended Discord Servers for discussing startup ideas?

This is a worthy community, but it can sometimes be better to have a live chat discussion to thrash out or validate an idea. I'm trying to find a Discord Server that isn't either dead or a spam fest. Does anyone have any recommendations?

PH Launch Day - DailyAppIdea.Dev

200 days ago, I had the dumb idea to create a web site that would show a different application development idea each day, for solo devs and small teams who are looking for their next project.

One thing led to another, and now the site has just been launched on Product Hunt!

Please check out the launch, and upvote it if you can.

Thanks,

I will pay you (a little) to beta test https://dailyappidea.dev

(I originally posted this in r/buildinpublic - but this seems like a more appropriate place: https://www.reddit.com/r/buildinpublic/comments/1tvb6ct/i_will_pay_you_to_beta_test_httpsdailyappideadev/ )

Howdy,

For the last 6 months I have been building dailyappidea.dev - a website that gives daily project ideas for solo and indie developers. I've been building in public on BlueSky (@ParsecXR)

The site has a member's area that provides additional content, including full access to the complete ideas database for subscribers.

(For the record, it is an Angular SPA hosted on CloudFlare, with a Supabase back end)

One of the problems I faced with this idea was how to generate quality sustainable content, so I decided to crowd source it by hosting monthly competitions to reward members who submit the best idea.

To encourage content and make the competitions worthwhile, I want to give out tangible prizes. To avoid the legal minefield of sweepstakes laws, competition winners get awarded 'site points' (basically karma), which can then be exchanged for rewards such as free subscriptions or gift cards (from Tremendous)

The site is scheduled to go live on ProductHunt on 26th June, but I really want to do a dry run the competition system before then. Getting beta testers has proven to be a challenge, so I am going to try this:

  • I will give a $10US gift card to the first 5 people who sign up, complete a quick test plan and provide feedback
  • I will give a $25US gift card to the person who submits the best idea by 20/06

This site is currently invite-only, so you will need to DM me if you are interested

Otherwise, I'd love to hear what you think of the concept in general.
