[Deadline extension] Game of Cards

As the deadline is fast approaching for the current art contest over here at r/polandballart, in fact there's less than an hour left at the time of this announcement being posted. Due to a lack of entries, we have decided to extend the deadline. This extended deadline starts today and ends on the 6th of July at 20:00 GMT. Take this extra time to refine your ongoing contest entry if you have one in progress, aswell as a good luck to everyone participating!

[Contest] Game of Cards

Greetings Deck Builders, Antique Cardboard Collectors, and Solitaire Extraordinaires!

Polandballart has always been open to all shapes and forms of visual media, and for this month's contest we've decided to focus on one that's perhaps less appreciated than most.

Create an artwork related to cards!

Specific Contest Rules

  • All artwork must be related to playing cards. It can involve the standard 52 card deck, Tarot Cards, any Trading Card Games, and anything else that might be reasonably considered playing cards.
  • Artworks can either be of the design of the card or scenery relating to cardplay. For artworks relating to card designs, usage of text is permitted as long as it fits aesthetically. Do remember that other advanced tools like line tool are still forbidden.
  • Having artworks be inspired by real life franchises is permitted, but try not to directly reference them in your works. Create parody versions if it's really necessary.

Examples

You can take inspiration from some of these polandballart and real life paintings for this contest:

General Contest Rules

  • You must follow the official polandball tutorial.
  • Remember that in r/polandballart all posts must have only one panel.
  • Only use dialogue if it makes sense aesthetically (caption, sign, etc.).
  • Try and be high effort. You have two whole weeks to draw, so do your best.
  • The artwork must be drawn entirely by yourself.
  • Do not sign your artwork.
  • The artwork has to be original. No reposts from previous PB related contests.
  • The deadline for submitting your entry is 29th of June at 20:00 GMT.

In order to participate in the contest, submit your art piece to the subreddit and then flair it as contest entry. Anyone is free to submit how many entries they like, however, only one of your entries will be eligible to award you with a beret. That is, a single user cannot have more than one entry be in the top three.

Choosing the winner

After all of the entries have been submitted and the deadline has passed, the moderators will take a private vote to decide the first, second and third places. All entries will be ranked from 1 to 10, with the final score being the average of all votes. The winner of last month's contest will also be allowed to vote on this month's entries.

The user who takes the first place in the contest will be awarded the Golden Beret and will have their art piece decorating the sidebar of the subreddit until the next contest is announced! They will also be able to post their winning work on r/polandball using a special Polandballart flair, and they will also have voting rights for the next contest.

The second and third places will receive the Silver Beret and the Bronze Beret, respectively, and they will also get to wear them until the next contest.

Any questions about the contest may be directed here. We wish all the contestants luck!

Cheers,

the r/polandballart modteam

[Award Ceremony] Get to Wörk

Greetings, Office workers, Freeloaders and Workoholics!

Another productive day in the office, I see! You've all done good work where it counts, and that's why you are getting your bonuses! Not all of you - there's twelve of you here before me, and do you really expect us to have the budget for bonuses for all of your sorry asses? No - there's decent work, there's good work, and then there's truly exemplary work! You'd think we'd reward our class of pencil pushers, but it turns out our employees of the month are down in the kitchen making all sorts of confectionaries to brighten spirits and give everyone else the push they need to get profits up that little bit more. After all, put a croissant here and a pastry there and we can move heaven and earth - or at least earnings by 2% this month.

The winners of this month's contest, Get to Wörk are:

  • The first place with 9.20 points goes to /u/Windx51_ and their piece Bakers and Sweets. They are therefore awarded with a Golden Beret and permanent golden medal! Their piece will decorate the sidebar of the subreddit until next contest.

  • With 9.00 points, second place goes to /u/Aegician and their piece For a Big Day. They are therefore awarded with a Silver Beret and permanent silver medal!

  • Finally, with 8.80 points, the third place goes to /u/Lilpebbleh and their piece Rooftop job. They are therefore awarded with a White Beret and permanent bronze medal!

All the winners can crosspost their winning artwork to r/polandball!
