My 2026 BLACK “Hail Raiser” CUSTOM Commanders jersey from DHGate arrived and honestly…for $26 shipped, I can’t complain much.

- Arrived in 17 days
- Vapor Limited style chassis with the fake chainmaille + rear “Y” seam
- Colors are spot on
- 9” sewn numbers front/back
- 3.25” sewn sleeve numbers
- 2.5” sewn nameplate letters
- Fabric feels surprisingly nice
- Collar is solid
- Stitching overall is strong, though the NFL shield got a little wonky

A couple negatives:
- Fit runs snug even after sizing up
- Sleeve stripes are knit (gold stripe is thicker than burgundy)
- Biggest issue is the sleeves are LONG…15”+ long

Luckily I’ve got family that can tailor/fix the sleeves, so not a dealbreaker for me.

Overall, extremely satisfied for the money. Already planning to order another one built on the FUSE template.

Had to switch gears this time from the JD5 builds for this latest project and take a shot at something a little more speculative: a custom Sonny Styles rookie mini camp #6 Nike “GAME” jersey.

By now, everyone knows that Styles is wearing #52 during rookie mini camp. But interestingly enough, #6 (which I would personally prefer) is still technically available— which made this build feel a lot less far-fetched than you might think.

What really pushed me into doing this is that Fanatics is accepting orders for his “52” jersey while also including the disclaimer:

“Orders containing this item will be shipped separately 2–4 weeks after the player’s number is officially confirmed. Confirmation will take place no later than the start of the 2026 NFL regular season.”

To me, that says there’s still a real possibility the number situation isn’t finalized yet.

So until it’s officially locked in,
I figured…why not build the version I’d want to see?

For the build itself, I kept the approach the same as my other customs: starting with an authentic Nike game cut XXL jersey.(Poshmark, $21)

Then, study the current on-field templates, rebuild the numerals with the correct proportions and spacing, match the nameplate styling, and keep everything looking as close to factory-produced as possible.

Sent the graphics out for DTF printing,($16.34, shipped) lined everything up carefully, and pressed it all down piece by piece. Same process, same obsession over getting the details right.

In conclusion, I have a clean, under $40 “what if?” jersey that honestly looks pretty convincing.

And if Styles does end up in #6 by Week 1, then this thing is suddenly way ahead of schedule.

This might not be my favorite jersey, but I couldn’t help myself…

I just ordered a custom Taylor Heinicke white Commanders jersey while they’re still available. (and deeply discounted)

Say what you want, but Heinicke gave us some of the most entertaining football we’ve had in years. Dude played like every snap was his last.

After the run I’ve been on with DIY jersey builds, I had to keep it going—this time with something a lot of people have been asking for: a custom JD5 Commanders (Redskins) 70th Anniversary Reebok jersey.

I started with a genuine 2002 blank Reebok jersey I found on eBay (three of them, actually), which made the perfect base. It’s that early-2000s transitional style that still carries all the classic old school jersey DNA.

The 70th Anniversary patch and sleeve design really sets it off, tying the whole piece back proudly to the team’s history.

As always, accuracy mattered.

I studied game and fan jerseys from that season to dial in the correct number proportions, spacing, and that slightly heavier Reebok-era font.

I rebuilt the numerals—front, back, and sleeves—with proper sizing and stroke weight, and matched the “DANIELS” nameplate graphic to fit the era.

Sent everything out for DTF printing, then handled the usual: trim, align, and press—slow and precise to keep everything clean.

I created artwork for the Darrell Green 20 year commemorative patch, but I’m not certain if I want to add it on. Still deciding.

End result: easily my favorite build so far. Clean, wearable, and feels like it could’ve come straight out of the stadium store, circa 2002.

Another fun build, still under $50.

It may still be too soon, but has anyone actually taken delivery of one of the Commanders’ new, updated jerseys yet—from DHGate or any of the usual suspects?

The year is 2032.

The new RFK downtown stadium will have been constructed, opened and filled to capacity.

The team will celebrate its 100 year centennial anniversary.

And these….will be our “throwback” uniforms. 🤣🤣🤣
