Denied an MRI due to having protected intercourse ( NHS)
Hi I went to get my first mri and when they went through the questions before hand and asked if there’s a possibility of pregnancy, I said I had engaged in protected intercourse since my last period. They told me they were unable to do the scan until after my next period and after I take a pregnancy test. I understand there’s a protocol for pregnancy, my issue is nothing on the letters or paperwork or information booklet said I had to avoid engaging in sex to be allowed the mri. I’ve already waited months for this and it’s ended up wasting both my time and the NHS’s time. When I voiced my confusion they just kept repeating they were unable to tell anyone not to engage in sex. But if sex, even with a condom, means no mri, surely this should be better explained in advance?
