DNB thesis protocol deadline

Hello everyone.
I have a query regarding the DNB thesis protocol timeline. Our institute has its first DNB batch, and our Ethics Committee approval is obtained through another college. We have been informed that the IEC approval may take 1–2 months, which could push the thesis protocol submission beyond the 6-month deadline from joining.
Has anyone faced a similar situation? If the delay is due to pending IEC approval and not because of the resident, does it affect DNB candidature or eligibility for the final examination? Any guidance or experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Complaint against DNB college

Can someone please guide me on whether DNB colleges are allowed to make residents work as laboratory technicians? I am a Pathology resident at a DNB-accredited college, and we are expected to perform routine technician duties such as running CBC samples, blood grouping, ESR, and other laboratory work. This is the institute’s first DNB batch.

Can I raise this issue with NBEMS, or is there any official document/guideline that clearly defines the roles and responsibilities of DNB Pathology residents? I would appreciate any guidance regarding the expected training structure and resident duties in a DNB Pathology program.

Do not opt for GMERS PORBANDAR

GMERS PORBANDAR has to be one of the most disappointing places for pathology residency if you’re expecting actual pathology training. Residents spend a significant amount of time doing work that feels more like technician duties than postgraduate medical education - running CBCs, ESRs, blood grouping, supervising collections.
Instead of being trained extensively in histopathology, cytology, diagnostics, reporting, research, and academics, a large chunk of time is consumed by routine laboratory and administrative tasks. The system often feels more focused on manpower management than resident education.
If you’re looking for a residency program that prioritizes academic growth and advanced pathology training, make sure you thoroughly evaluate your options before choosing this college.

Seminar paglu

Patho resident here. My HOD is such a seminar paglu yaar har mahine ek seminar lena h fir bacho ko bhi padhana hain, he wants us to present to our guide before they’ll rectify and correct presentation. Iske alawa hemat lab, grossing etc sab dekhna padta hain. Its not as hectic but the seminar thing is getting on my nerves.
He also wants UG students to present seminars 😭 unko dekhke lagta accha hua time pe UG ho gaya
