How do I get on playlists? Should I make my own?

I'd like to boost my numbers and it seems like playlists are the way to do it. I've been thinking about making play lists of more popular artists and sneaking my songs in, does that work? I play folkpunk which is kinda a niech thing and I don't feel like I'd fit in with most of the big projects I see on here. Im also terrified of accidentally getting botted/ai streams so how do I avoid that?

Thanks in advance

So i dropped my fist album on Spotify via distrokid about 2 days ago. I've been waiting to really promote it until I can claim my page and add a pfp and bio and all that, I don't really want to promote a page that isn't finished and professional looking. I've been checking Spotify for artists and copy pasting the link to the page but it keeps saying that they can't find my release and to wait. I've been promoting by bandcamp in the meantime since it's quicker and makes more money but I feel like Spotify is gonna get the songs out to more people which is really what I care about. Is this long wait normal for distrokid or does it sound like theirs a problem? Also should I be promoting Spotify even if the page isn't claimed yet? I'm new at this and have no clue what I'm doing lol

It's 8 original songs that I wrote and recorded myself, I've busked these songs across the country while hitchhiking and hopping trains and I'm super exited to share them. Stay tuned for updates on the Spotify youtube and apple music drops
