Wife and I found an incredible home, have some questions about 401(k) withdrawal.

Basically, we fell into a really lucky window to buy a home. We found one we love at the higher end of our budget in a great location. Inspection was yesterday and the house basically couldn’t be in better condition. We feel very confident about this house and it could possibly be a forever home.

We want to withdraw from a 401(k) to ensure financial security after closing but there is so much uncertainty in the rules. How does the company verify your need? What if we request a certain amount and then negotiations and terms change before closing? We want to withdraw a little extra to be sure but don’t want to get in trouble later on. Can anyone explain this part of the process? Not seeing any posts that specifically discusses supporting documentation or possible audits and/or penalties.

My foot has been hurting for about three months now. Suspected it was PF early. Doctor just told me today it’s likely PF. She gave me some stretches to do and said rest is good. I play soccer three times a week. It hurts somewhat bad (like 6/10 pain maybe?) after the adrenaline from the game goes away and it hurts in the mornings until I get going for the day. Usually, the pain is pretty mild.

I’m torn because I love playing soccer. It also helps a few other issues I have. I’ve learned I have some weird body mechanics that lead to overworked calves and weaker back muscles. When I’m not active, I begin getting prone to pulling a back muscles and my hip flexor begins hurting.

I’m wondering, am I headed toward chronic pain and bone spurs like I’m reading here if I keep playing or is this manageable/curable while playing still? I’m 32 and have no history of any injuries outside of pulling some back muscle a few times.
