I'm inventing something.
I am currently building a PDA-like device featuring an eye-friendly display.
To give you some background: I love taking notes and reading, but I suffer from severe eye strain (a problem I believe many of you here share). I wanted an E-ink device, and normally, I could have just purchased one.
However, no existing model met all my requirements, such as having a QWERTY keyboard.
This led me to research and try building my own.
I began with an E-ink display from an electronic shelf label due to its low cost. Despite its painfully slow refresh rate, I wanted to try it. It taught me a great deal, but I ultimately had to give up because typing and displaying text on it was incredibly challenging.
Eventually, I had to abandon that idea and look for another screen. Initially, I looked for a better E-ink display, but then I came across the one you see in the picture.
It possesses qualities somewhere between an E-ink and an LED display, but without emitting light, which made me eager to try it.
It is truly excellent, even though it is more expensive than E-ink. That is all I can share for now. If I succeed in completing this project, I will certainly post an update.
Thank you for reading this far.
