3L Job Advice

I am a 3L graduating in May. I’ve thankfully done well in school - currently ranked 3rd in my class. The entire reason I went to law school was to become a PD.

I was wondering when the appropriate time to start applying to jobs is. I have found mixed reports, mostly saying that it’s office dependent. I live in Metro Atlanta and would be looking at offices in the Atlanta/North GA area, as well as offices in Middle TN around Nashville.

Is it appropriate to start applying and job hunting now, or should I wait until grades from this semester are out (i.e. early next year).

I fear both applying too early and getting a rejection which may affect an application in a few months, and applying too late to secure a job with the rash of graduates.

TIA!

Advice Finding Job Listings

Hello! I am a 3L student and I am starting to do the early stages of job searching. Mainly, I’m just looking at different types of salaries across different counties/districts, and where to reliably find postings so I can hit the ground running in the spring.

I am a Georgia resident and go to school in-state, but my wife is from Tennessee (specifically Nashville area), and we are considering moving to be closer to her family after I graduate.

I’m unfamiliar with the TN judicial system in terms of how they may run their PD system. In GA, the offices seem to be primarily managed by a central state agency so the listings are pretty centralized, but I know where to find other listings if needed.

Can anyone offer advice on where to search to find PD jobs in Tennessee? Specifically, advice on the metro-Nashville/Mufreesboro area would be extra helpful!

TIA!
