I speak at least B1 German, my wife speaks A1 at best, and we just renewed our US passports. My wife works remotely and should be able to keep her job at her current company, but i work in manufacturing and would have to find new work locally.
What do i need to do to secure our ability to move there? What government offices do i need to contact? How long will the process of obtaining permission to move to Germany take?
We would also like advice on where to move. Are there any Bundesländer that are friendlier to immigrants? Which ones are most unfriendly to immigrants?
Looking further ahead, what would we need to do to remain in the country permanently? How can we eventually gain citizenship?
