Can I take Aspirin if I had an Ibuprofen allergy as a kid?
36F. I’m having ORIF surgery on my ankle next week.
The ortho would like me to take a baby aspirin for 1 week after surgery to prevent clots. I had an allergic reaction to Motrin when I was 8yrs old. I had facial swelling and haven’t tried any NSAID since just to be safe.
Is it safe for me to take baby Aspirin next week after my surgery? If not, is there something else I could take or do to help prevent post-surgery clots?
