made some repeated impacts to 1000yds on the ipsc target that i’m happy with and got consistent 1.5MOA targets from 400-800yds.
great conditions: 1200hr, 80-85F, 20% RH, calm wind, 1005mmHG.
18” criterion HBAR and regular old AAC 77gr (non-SMK) with a mk4 HD 2.5-10.

i’ve searched a lot and not been able to find any available one piece steel bases for a howa/weatherby long action—shooting 308, likely a future chambering in a higher caliber.
nightforce gunsmith bases are discontinued, the leupold mk4 bases are long gone (ideal option if anyone has a lead), badger doesn’t make anything to fit, seekins doesn’t have an option.
i’d prefer to avoid aluminum to keep expansion/contraction consistent between the action, base, and rings. two piece are less than ideal to keep as much action flex from the scope body as possible. the available aluminum options don’t have an integrated recoil lug, which would be nice.
any thoughts? just go with aluminum? two piece steel? possible to find a quality blank?
