Another great week in AAA jazz reissues! Birth of the Cool, Inception and Whistle Stop (which was actually last week but my copy was damaged so I had to wait for a new one). They sound fantastic. I don't have a vinyl copy of Birth of The Cool, but the Tone Poet sounds very different to the Tidal stream - it's much clearer, particularly the horns. It really doesn't sound like it was recorded in the 1940s
New today on Blue Note Classic Vinyl. Byrd and Pepper Adams work so well together - every session they did around 1960-62 swings so hard. Bonus cat in the form of a sleepy Londo Mollari

Mal Waldron, A Touch of the Blues - just a fantastic record. Intense, emotional with a fantastic rhythm section. Early 70s Mal Waldron continues to blow my mind
Denny Zeitlin, Live at the Trident - I only found out about Zeitlin a couple of weeks ago on here and was lucky enough to find this in the wild
