Is it bad practice to use a psyeudonym in contemporary art?

Hey, Ive seen this take a few times, people saying it's not good to use a psyeudonym that sounds like a real name. Is this accurate?

I do not want to use my real name but assumed having a real sounding name would be preferred in galleries over a studio or gamer tag sounding name.

[marketing] Psyeudonym advice

Hello all, I am reaching out to see if anyone may have any advice for me. I am a hobby painter interested in doing illustration and licensing one day. I currently submit work to galleries under a psyeudonym as I do not want my real name out there however I understand once I start selling I'll need to apply for a dba or similar and then my real name will be traceable.

However I have also I gotten into writing and graphic novel making and would eventually like to try to publishs. For this work I am unsure if I should be using the same name or a different psyeudonym from my painting work. The problem is I would also like to keep this work anonymous but the themes and topics somewhat align with my current painting work. Also I wouldn't want sales from my art being affected by any of my narrative work as I want to touch upon more NSFW topics.

I understand once it comes to legal paperwork or banking then I would have to use my real name regardless which is fine but it's the general public I would like to keep my name away from.

I appreciate any insight someone could offer.
