6 month tank update

Just wanted to give a roughly 6 month update on my first tank! Its really grown and I have trimmed and removed tons of plants. My nitrates have been running low so today I decided to add some more fish! Added 6 more tetras and 3 emerald corydoras. I showed the owner my tank and he said I was very talented and I rode that high all day 🤣

My school of about 10 minnows and tetras was actually growing with the unexpected birth of at least 2 baby ember tetras. I originally had 4 otto cats but they all died...?

My orange shrimp have been doing great, a colony of about 9 has ballooned to at least 4 dozen.

Really happy with how things are going. I just picked up a 75 gallon tall octagon im going to start working on. Thinking of doing an angel fish community tank. Also toying with a puffer tank...😁😁

Started this tank about one month ago. 20 gallons. Fluval stratum for the substrate, dragon stone and spider wood for the hardscape. I have a 5lb CO2 tank that im still dialing in. Trying to chase the perfect green on the drop checker. I started the cycle with Dr. Tim's bottled bacteria and my parameters are currently;

Ph: 7.4

Ammonia/nitrites: 0

Nitrates: 5ppm

GH: 3

KH: 4

I havent measured TDS yet...need to get the measuring pen.

Stocked the tank with: 4 otto catfish, 2 panda Cory's, 6 ember tetra, 5 gold minnows, 1 mystery snail and 1 assasin snail (to control the bladder snails everywhere...I've gotten several rams horn snails out of there that I put in my beta tank, safe from assasination).

My ultimate goal is to have a shrimp fiesta! Neos for sure.

Still trying to decide if my tank is "ready" and not rush it. I've put a lot of time and research into it and im really happy with how things are coming out. As you can see from the picture I have already done some pruning and had to thin out the floating plants.
