Sertraline, and want to go up to higher dose

Hello. am new on reddit. My first post did no go through so trying again. Seeking some advice from fellow zoloft/sertraline users about how to go about going up to a higher dose.

I've been on sertraline many years ago and got off after i started to feel better. I've managed to stay off until recently when going through a lot of stress that started with taking care of a sick brother for 14 months. I'm now managing the care of my 92-year old mom, while having my own issues.

I started with liquid form on March 25 to taper up to 12.5mg. I just switched to the 25mg tablet but in half. The first few weeks were bad with side effects of increased anxiety and depression, and stomach acidity. I think the latter was due to some alcohol content in the liquid form. I started feeling better with less side effects on May 11 but still get the anxiety and some low moments with OCD thoughts. I am thinking of upping the does to take the full 25mg but afraid to do so. Has anyone jumped from 12.5mg to 25mg, and how did it go?

Thanks
