[Challenge Reveal] The Amazing Digital Countries

###Hello travailing technocrats, enterprising electronics expounders, and digital diviners!

The world is what we make it, and as long as we've had hands to shape it, we've been innovating ways to rend our world anew. Fire and iron gave us forge plowshares and swords, steam and steel let us build far, wide, and high, and now with the power of the sun in the palm of our hand, the crucibles to write thinking machines out of silicon, and the glass to throw light across the planet, we advance ever further. All we set our minds to - from the first wheel to the latest supercomputer - is technology, and the paths we pave with our creation are ones we are ill-equipped to head down ourselves. Ingenuity only gets us so far, after all, and you can't innovate natural wisdom out of the hole artificial intelligence dug for it - at least, not unless you're willing to go back to your hands and work it all out yourself.

#Make a comic about technology!

Specific Contest Rules

  • This is a naturally broad theme, so we're gonna give a good amount of leeway as to what sorts of technology you can focus on, so long as your comic does focus on said technology.

General Contest Rules

  • The comic must have a minimum of 3 panels and a maximum of 8 panels.
  • The comic must have been written and drawn entirely by yourself.
  • No animated GIFs accepted.
  • No photorealism.
  • You must follow the rules in the Official Polandball Tutorial.
  • The deadline for submitting your entry is Thu July 16 at 15:00 GMT

In order to participate in the contest, submit your art piece to the subreddit and then flair it as contest entry. Anyone is free to submit how many entries they like, however, only one of your entries will be eligible to award you with hussar wings. That is, a single user cannot have more than one entry be in the top three.

If you wish to participate in the contest but are not yet an approved submitter, you can send in your comic to us as if it were a normal approval comic, and once approved you may post your entry to the subreddit.

Choosing the winner

After all of the entries have been submitted and the deadline has passed, the moderators will take a private vote to decide the first, second and third places. All entries will be ranked from 1 to 10, with the final score being the average of all votes. The winner of last month's contest will also be allowed to vote on this month's entries.

Once all of our votes are tallied, the full list of results will be posted in an Awards Ceremony thread. The artist who receives the highest score will be awarded the Hussar Wings, which they will keep around their username indefinitely, as well as a pair of Golden Wings next to their flair until the end of the next contest. The Hussar Wing recipient will also be able to vote with the mods on the entries for the next contest.

The artists with the second and third highest scores will receive the Silver and Bronze Wings, respectively, which will act in a similar manner. Fourth place will receive the old Mod's Choice Participation Ribbon.^TM

Important

Before you submit, please check your comic against each point of the rules. Every contest we have multiple disqualifications (sometimes of fantastic comics) because some entrants don't read the rules properly before they start drawing.

As always, if you are not sure whether something you intend to do in your entry is compliant with the rules, you can message the mods and ask.

Any questions about the contest may be directed here.

Good luck and happy drawing!

[Award Ceremony] Colors of the Cornucopia

###Hello glamorous gays, lovable lesbians, transcendent trans peeps, and everyone who's all bi themselves!

#

Our contest Colors of the Cornucopia has concluded, and what a prideful time we all have had! Once again, we have affirmed that love survives all, and with each other hand-in-hand, we know that even if parts of the world suffer under intolerance, they will come around sooner rather than later. We've collected sixteen stories from parts all over (not private parts!) on how you all have celebrated the joy of loving who you want to love, and it's all so inspiring! We've seen all the flags of the world flying in your reports - rainbow flags, toothpaste flags, hot pink flags...

...and a yellow card followed by a red card?

[Challenge Reveal] Colors of the Cornucopia

###Hello glamorous gays, lovable lesbians, transcendent trans peeps, and everyone who's all bi themselves!

It's June, and you know what that means!

...wait, actually, what does that mean? It doesn't seem to mean every corporation on the platform formerly known as Twitter changing their profile pics into rainbows like it used to, so I think it's a good idea to delve a bit deeper to rediscover the True Meaning of Pride. Stick with me for a second, since it has been a somewhat confused mess over the years, but we'll get there in the end. The concept of something other than the straight and narrow was invented in 2014 1969 1924 1776 time immemorial, and has since that point been way too controversial for what it is. It shouldn't be a crime to express who you yourself are and who you hold most closely, and yet, people across history have liked to make a really big deal out of how much of a seeming travesty it is to them. Ah well, that's all in the past now, and now that we're at the End of History where all the issues have been resolved, we can all live happily ever after... right?

#Make a comic about LGBTQ+ values!

Specific Contest Rules

  • No balls that specifically represent GSM identities - this is still /r/polandball at the end of the day.
  • No jokes just about the name of a country/place being similar to a GSM identity (e.g. lesbian Lebanon, transgender Transnistria).
  • While jokes here are all in good fun, genuine gay bashing, transphobia, and the like are grounds for a ban.

[Award Ceremony] Partition Clinic

###Hello manic medics, nervous nurses, and doctors of the it's-not-just-a-PhD variety!

#

Our contest Partition Clinic has concluded, and what a day we've had on the operating room floor today! We've had all manner of patients roll in today, but we do have a brief moment of respite now before our shifts continue (gotta love residency)! Ten patients came in here, and while we were able to see a few of them off by just giving them a little acetaminophen, we did have to resort to more drastic measures to save some of the unlucky souls we had to care for. Amputations and vivisections were the order of the day, but even our trained saw-wielders weren't able to save everyone. After all, especially with someone who's been our Patient of the Month nine times before...

...there's only so much you can do to save someone from themselves.

Happy 15th Birthday /r/Polandball! / Honorary Hussar Wings Ceremony

¡Feliz Quinceañera, /r/Polandball! It has really been 15 years by now.

It has been 15 years since /u/767 created this subreddit, originally to post comics from the German-language imageboard Krautchan. Now, it has become a much bigger phenomenon than anyone could have likely imagined back then. It has also lasted longer than people might have imagined it would back then. There are even active users and commenters on this subreddit who are now younger than the subreddit itself. If /r/polandball were a person, it'd be only a few years away from reaching the voting, driving, and drinking age in many countries.

If you are curious about the history of the subreddit, then you might be interested in reading the overviews of different eras of its history, starting from its early days, leading into its explosion in popularity, which was followed by its peak, which in turn continued into the 2020s and is still going, evidently. And this may sound corny, but it's all thanks to you.

Yes, you, reading this. You are a culprit in this. No matter whether you've just been lurking, or if you've been commenting, or even getting yourself approved and posting comics yourself, or stumbling here and participating in the community in some other way, you have contributed to the subreddit getting to this point. Thank you.

In a new tradition that was inaugurated last year, and in a testament to /u/zimonitrome's ability to perpetually hold on to the seat of Most Popular Comic of All Time, we are once again happy to announce the bestowing of a pair of Honorary Hussar Wings.

As last year, this award goes to the author of the Comic of the Year, that is, the comic (posted within the last twelve months) that has gained the most upvotes on this subreddit. Without further delay, the winner of this year's award is...

Moreover, as part of this ritual we observe once every 365-ish days, we are also opening up an Ask the Mods thread, so go get your press hats on for the questioning and ask away - right now, right here!

And of course, how could we hold an anniversary celebration without it - posting meta comics straight to /r/Polandball will be legal for a week!

THERE'S MORE! If you open up this thread on Old Reddit, you can take a gaze at the colourful and large text accompanied by the wide collection of different countries, regions, and other polities resting in the background of whatever you deem to be the utmost important to shout from the depths of your lungs - the longer your shout is, the more of them you may spot!

To shout, don't forget to add two hashes (##) to the beginning of your messages, like this:

###Hello manic medics, nervous nurses, and doctors of the it's-not-just-a-PhD variety!

There's never a minute that passes by within our clinic without event. Thankfully, it's usually not the sort where a crash cart goes through the doors at hopefully-not-physically-breakneck speed, but you've got to keep your wits about you to ensure that everyone gets out of this place alive and healthy. Over in our patient beds, we've got your usual fare: a household injury from whatever do-it-yourself disastercraft came up on their feed, an overheat from a dare to wear one-too-many wool shirts in the sun, a burn on the stove from someone who didn't realize the oven mitts weren't just an aesthetic choice. We've also got a couple of long-term patients, and let me tell you, they're a doozy! Let's see, there's-

Oh, mea culpa, I forgot that you didn't just come in for me to tell you about our operations, you actually need a second opinion - and from the look of it, you don't seem too hot. I'll give you a couple of acetaminophen tablets while I contact your insurance processor - this might take a while, but you know, this is for your own good! After all, it's do no harm first - not last!

#Make a comic set in a medical scene!

Specific Contest Rules
