Cold idle problems
Hi everyone, i just got this 97 2.0i as my first car and I have some problems with the idle. So far, I've set the valve clearances to factory spec, replaced the valve cover gasket and now it is time to finally solve this quite annoying cold idle issue. What it does is when I start it up, like 10 seconds after starting, it starts jumping up and down. It's not as bad as it was when I bought it, because it was way worse. It was going up and down between 1400-1800 and now it's not, because I cleaned the IACV and FITV. It was actually disgusting how much the FITV was clogged up. It literally didn't have any holes visible inside it from all the build-up. Since cleaning, it's a lot better tho. I also set the FITV to all the way right and then 1,5 turns left. I also set warm idle to 800 rpm. Another issue it has is that when I press the throttle in neutral and release it, the rpm goes below idle, overcorrects itself and then goes back to normal idle. (or something like that. It's visible in the video) So my question is does someone have a solution for this?
