Has anyone had any success as a tenant with the RTB with getting mold remediated? Our claim was denied and looking for next steps.

We have severe mold in the wall cavities. It appears our roof and building envelope are leaking. There’s been other units as well with water pouring in from the exterior walls.

We have had to leave to stay elsewhere due to the severe health effects, have done mold testing, our inspector deems it uninhabitable. But both the city and RTB want”photos” of the mold in the wall cavities, the lab testing and mold inspection reports aren’t enough.

I am trying to get a lawyer, we have lost all our belongings and can’t re enter due to severe illness and respiratory distress. The landlord is non cooperative and did a centre of the room air sample still showing elevated Aspergillus but said it’s safe.

What do we do?! Running out of money and patience.
