Hi everyone, we’ve just launched live IELTS Speaking mock tests, and I wanted to share how they work.

If you’re preparing on your own, you can record your answers and listen back, but it can still be difficult to work out what needs attention. These sessions give you a chance to practise with a teacher and get feedback on your speaking.

You can book with Aydin Ismayilpur, who has over 11 years of English teaching experience, and Kate Feng, with more than 25 years of experience at HKIS, Hong Kong's premier international school.

Each session is private, takes place on Google Meet and lasts 30 minutes, including the speaking practice and feedback. The aim is to help you understand what to focus on when you go back to practising.

You can see the details and available times here:

Happy to answer questions about how the sessions work.

If you’re preparing for IELTS Academic or IELTS General Training for university, work, immigration or moving abroad, we’ve started a free community where IELTS learners can learn together and ask questions they’re stuck on.

It’s the PrepEx IELTS Community, with sessions led by Aydin Ismayilpur (the Hero Teacher).

We’re trying to make it more than just another place to share IELTS tips. The idea is to have somewhere you can actually bring the questions that come up while preparing for the test.

Right now, the community includes:

• Live IELTS webinars every two weeks with teaching + Q&A

• Friday Q&A where Aydin picks questions from the community and answers them

• Discussions around *IELTS Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking

• Lesson recordings and learning resources you can come back to later

• Other IELTS learners sharing what they’re struggling with and what’s working for them.

Find your speaking partner here! The community itself is free to join.

Also, I’m curious: what’s the one IELTS question or problem you’d want to ask an experienced IELTS teacher right now?

Could be Writing Task 2, Speaking, Reading timing, band scores, preparation strategy or anything else. Drop it below and we might pick it for an upcoming Q&A.

Most DET learners probably don’t need another huge bank of practice questions.

What they really need is a clear answer to:

“What should I improve next?”

That’s what we’ve been trying to solve with PrepEx DET, our new Duolingo English Test prep experience.

You can currently practise 13 DET task families across all four skills:

Depending on the task, you’ll either get an immediate answer review or feedback specific to your response. Petra, our AI tutor, then helps you figure out what you should focus on next instead of just moving on to another random question.

There are 2 free graded sessions every day, so you can try it without paying.

We just launched our PTE practice platform.

The main problem we wanted to solve was practising for weeks without knowing whether your score is improving. You can complete PTE-style tasks across Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening, then receive instant AI feedback and a 10–90 practice estimate.

It currently covers 22 task types, including Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, and Summarize Written Text. Free accounts get three fully graded sessions each day. No card required.

Full disclosure: PrepEx is not affiliated with Pearson, and the estimates are not official PTE scores.

Most people prepping for CELPIP aren't doing it in a classroom. They're doing it around a full time job, a move, or a deadline that isn't waiting for anyone.

We just launched CELPIP prep on PrepEx, built around that.

All 4 skills, instant feedback after every session, and a real level score so you know where you actually stand.

Check it out if CELPIP is on your list right now.

We partnered with ApplyBoard to launch a voucher store on PrepEx for students booking official English and grad-admissions tests.

What's live: discounted vouchers for TOEFL, PTE, CELPIP, and GRE at prepex.ai/vouchers. Availability and pricing depend on your country.

How it works:

1. Pick your exam in the embedded ApplyBoard checkout
2. Pay securely (regional payment methods where supported — India routes through ApplyShop India)
3. Get your voucher code by email
4. Redeem it on the official test provider's site when you book

Discounts: savings vary by exam and region — up to ~20% on some products. CELPIP is currently listed at 11%+ off in eligible markets. Exact price, validity, and redemption rules are shown at checkout.

TOEFL bundle: in eligible countries, there's also a TOEFL voucher + PrepEx prep bundle — discounted TOEFL voucher plus PrepEx TOEFL prep access in one purchase. More detail: prepex.ai/toefl-bundle. That's the only product that requires a PrepEx account to redeem the prep code; everything else you can buy without signing up.

Checkout and fulfillment run through ApplyBoard (authorized reseller for ETS, Paragon, Pearson). Voucher payment/delivery questions go to tests@applyboard.com; PrepEx account/prep-code questions go through PrepEx support hello@prepex.ai.

If you've been waiting on a cheaper test date, worth checking what's available in your country before you book direct!
