Deterring thieves and home alarms
Well lads with all the talk of the lucky dip gang and the increase in young lads lifting bikes, cars, in my area - I’m getting a bit worried about my own house. I rent in a housing estate that is generally ok on the north side, but its pretty easy to hop the side entrance into our garden. The neighbours are setting up a neighbourhood watch thing with the local garda station but does anyone have advice for something like motion sensors/alarms/lights that would trigger when breaking through garden door or hopping over it ?
Myself and my partner have pretty expensive bikes (one electric) that we lock in the garden but can’t bring inside. I’m a bit nervous about cheap cctv cameras especially as that footage could be sent anywhere and we spend a lot of time outside. I guess the same goes for inside the house but all the theft in our area seems opportunistic. Thankfully we don’t have a car !
Interested to know what everyone else is using to deter thieves or troublemakers in their homes !
