Just had a thought (central govt jobs vs corporate jobs)

I will be giving gate 2027. Just wanted to know is anyone here aiming for central govt jobs through gate ? (Eg DRDO, ISRO, BARC, etc)
Just wanted to know the motivation behind aiming for these jobs.
This is what i could figure out

Govt jobs
+job security
+less hectic work compared to corporate
+pay hike after 8th pay commission
+govt perks
+better work life balance
-harder to get a job
-less innovative and relevant work
-slow growth

Corporate
+better compensation
+more innovative and relevant work
+faster growth
+competitively easier to get a job
-no govt perks
-work life balance is not as good as a govt job
-more hectic work

What are your thoughts ?
Would govt jobs be better after the implementation of 8th pay commission?

Can someone recommend a powerful laptop for VLSI ?

Hey guys,
I have just completed my second year in btech ece. I was planning to upgrade my laptop.
I have a thinkpad right now with an i5(u) processor.
I want a powerful laptop for my further studies in vlsi.
Which laptops would you all recommend?
Also is macbook a sensible buy, since many told me i can run incompatible software using a Virtual Machine, but i am still skeptical about the performance on VM.
I would prefer something which wont be too bulky like a heavy gaming laptop.(i would prefer a 13 inch display, but 14 would be fine too…not more than that.
I also produce music, so want a powerful device to run heavy music DAWs and other plugins

Budget- 150k
