Finally the wait is over

My case was a little unusual, so I’m going to share my timeline and profile with you guys.

Timeline:

ITA: Jan 7

AOR: Jan 22

BIL: May 19

ADR 1: May 23

ADR 2: June 1

FD: June 3

P1: June 18

P2: July 3

My process started with PVO Ottawa and SVO Sydney. Later, my PVO changed to Vancouver and my SVO changed to Montreal. I don’t know the reason for the change.

I’m Brazilian, and I claimed points for 6 years of foreign work experience as a self-employed lawyer — NOC 41101: Lawyers and Quebec notaries.

I also claimed 1 year of Canadian work experience, half as a Retail Supervisor — NOC 62010: Retail sales supervisors, and half as a Retail Manager — NOC 60020: Retail and wholesale trade managers.

For my Canadian experience I added the employment letter from my HR, my employment contract, all my business cards, all my paystubs and a full complete description of my position with roles and routines, and my workday profile with promotion and transfers.

My English was CLB 12. I was 31 years old at the time of application. I applied with my spouse, who had English CLB 7, was 45 years old, and had no Canadian work experience.

My CRS score was 512, and the draw cut-off was 511.

Neither of the ADRs were related to the main application documents. One was for an updated divorce certificate from my spouse’s first marriage, and the other was for military records.

All documents were extremely organized, page numbered, with an LOE for each one, and a table of contents indicating the page number of each document. I had absolutely no issues.

Good luck to everyone else here :)

Nobody talks about the mental sickness of going through immigration

Five years. That’s how long it’s been since I arrived in Canada, and looking back, it feels like I’ve lived a decade in half that time.
My journey was a masterclass in uncertainty: the agonizing COVID-era wait for a study permit, the endless limbo of a permit extension, and nearly a year just waiting on a PGWP. I remember the whiplash of being granted the right to work full-time as a student, only to have the rug pulled out from under me without a word.
Then came the Express Entry gauntlet. I hit a CLB 12 on my CELPIP, the dream score, only to lose five points because of a birthday, missing a CEC draw by a mere week. That stung. So, I kept focusing on French. For two and a half years, my life was nothing but intensive, daily study. I spent months surviving on three or four hours of sleep a night, pushing until I finally got that ITA literally two days before my TCF exam. I sat for the test anyway, pulled a CLB 8 across all abilities, and just kept moving.
My FD happened on June 3rd, and my P1 was received on the 18th.
You’d think I’d be euphoric. I expected relief, maybe some tears of joy. Instead? I’m just… numb. When I brought this up with my therapist, he hit the nail on the head: my brain has spent so long in survival mode that it doesn’t even recognize safety when it arrives. It’s still bracing for the next administrative hurdle or the next point drop.
I know how lucky I am. I’m deeply, genuinely thankful to be here. But we don’t talk enough about how this process messes with our heads. It forces you into a state of constant, high-stakes vigilance that doesn't just switch off when you get the email you’ve been waiting for.
To everyone else grinding, doing things the right way, and trying to weave themselves into the fabric of this culture: I’m rooting for you. You deserve to reach your goal. But please, while you’re chasing that status, don’t forget to look after your mind. It’s the only one you’ve got.

ADR Request and Change of Status

Hey guys!!!

I got an ADR for a divorce certificate of my spouse’s previous marriage May 23th.

I’ve submitted the requested document yesterday, May 27, and GCKey status in the additional document field changed from “we need additional documents” to “your document was uploaded successfully”.

Is this change considered the AOR for the ADR? Will I receive a new AOR letter for this document?

Anybody else in similar situation?

My AOR is Jan 22, CEC Inland.
BIL May 19
Medical Pass May 20
Background and Eligibility in progress since May 19 according to the IRCC agent I called.
