Noob player, some comments and questions after a few days

First off, well I'm baffled how I never heard of this game sooner. It feels to me a mix between PGR and SnowBreak, 2 of my fave gachas. And the music is awesome!
I seem to have started at best time - this 3rd Anni event is so generous! But I'm a little lost on team building and who to pull..
I'm just chilling, working playing the story using whatever modifiers the game throws at me, but should be I jumping on any of the current banners?
Typically in these anni events there's at least one strong character that's a must pull, which is why I ask ..
Anyway glad to have stumbled onto AG! The SnowBreak situation is a bit weird right now, so I'm looking forward to learning the modifiers stories and getting to know the cast.
Some of those interactive scenes look fun 😅
