looking for queer photographer for lesbian wedding for less than $4k

hi all! i’m looking for a queer photographer for my lesbian wedding in sept 2027. i’ve found a few that i love whose services are $5k+ and i’m trying to keep it under $4k. please drop some recs if you have anyone in mind, including yourself!

i’ve heard sometimes it’s cheaper to get an out of town photographer to fly in — anyone have experience with that?

bridal boutiques for queer women?

hi, i’m a 26F lesbian getting married in sept 2027 and while i do want a wedding dress, i don’t like traditional styles and would love to wear something more quirky or whimsical. i love intricate beating, sparkles, pleats, and also funky alternative dresses and silhouettes. willing to do a blush colored dress too.

is there a bridal boutique that offers funkier, non-traditional wedding dresses in chicago? i’ve been doing some research and am having trouble finding one! thanks in advance for the help!

fyi if you have a boutique in mind, but it’s not explicitly queer, that’s okay!! i just want to find fun dresses :)

Experiences with Halim Time and Glass Museum?

Hi! My fiancèe and I are looking into having a 100-person September or October 2027 wedding at the Halim Time and Glass Museum in Evanston. We are specifically looking at a package that includes access to the entire museum during the reception so guests can take a tour.

My questions are:
- Has anyone here held or attended a wedding there?
- Was your experience good?
- If your package included museum access, did you find that your reception felt sparse because lots of guests were off touring the museum? (This is my main concern — I reallllly want the dance floor to be full but also want to give older or introverted guests an option to tour the museum if they don’t want to dance).
- How was the food?

Any advice or experiences are welcome!
